You will never make a good impression on other people until you stop thinking about what sort of impression you are making. Even in literature and art, no man who bothers about originality will ever be original whereas if you simply try to tell the truth (without caring twopence how often it has been told before) you will, nine times out of ten, become original without ever having noticed it. The principle runs through all life from top to bottom. Give up yourself, and you will find your real self. Lose your life and you will find it. ~C.S. Lewis
It happens to the best of us. We look around and see people who have it all. Their lives are perfect. Their house is clean and perfect. They are at their ideal weight and perfect. Their hair is beautiful and perfect. Their clothes are stylish and well, perfect. Their marriage? Perfect. Their kids are even perfect. Life is easy for them. They never get a zit. It’s just not fair. It’s definitely not fun.
But here’s the thing of it all. None of us are exempt. So the momma you think is perfect? She’s comparing herself too and not measuring up. Turns out we are all a beautiful mess, friends.
Lean in dearhearts, I have something to tell you.
You are beautiful. You are enough. You are just who God made you to be, in every way.
Let that sink in. Lay down the comparison, self doubt, and just start being you. The world needs you. Now that’s fun.
