Doing It All

As moms we often struggle with doing it all. We run ourselves to exhaustion and go to bed at night discouraged because we just can’t seem to do it all.

The truth is, most of us are doing the best we can and doing a great job at it. I love when other moms share their time saving tips and even confess what they let slip (no one can really do it all).

Here are some tips that friends and mentors have taught me:

Keep it simple. Have your house in such a way that it is easy to keep in order. The less clutter the better.

Enjoy your children. Read to them, color with them and do things that you know they like to do.

Spend some time everyday with God. Pray for your husband and your children. Read the Bible. Talk with God. It will bring you peace and patience.

The focus is creating the home God wants me to create.

What do I let slip?

Sometimes I just have to let the phone go unanswered. I let voicemail get it and call back later. My time with my children is important. Sometimes we use paper plates. We all need a break from kitchen clean up and paper plates makes it easy. Sometimes we declare a “stay home” day which is really a stay in your p.j.’s day. The kids and I usually do lots of school and lots of snuggling.

So tell me, what helps you “do it all?”

Your home should be a haven of rest, a sanctuary of peace and a place of love. This video is part of our “Intentional Living” series about finances, family, faith and all that inspires our family to live a full life.
