A wise woman once told me, “When it is sent by God, it comes with confirmation. When it isn’t sent by God it comes with hesitation, frustration, and confusion.” I KNOW that with everything in me to be true.
In 2009, I was cleaning my home, going about my day, thinking and praying. I heard that quiet voice say, “It’s time to sell your home.” What. In. The. World. God is that you? If that’s you, God, tell Brian first. I had confidence that if God was speaking, he wouldn’t just speak it to me but he’d tell my husband too. Sure enough a few weeks later, Brian asked me if I had thought about putting our house on the market. Fast forward to the end of the year, we found ourselves traveling from Lebanon, Virginia to Lighthouse Church in Hampton, South Carolina so that Brian could have a “try-out” sermon for the position of pastor. Before we made it back home, our realtor called with a full asking price offer on our home. I knew immediately that he’d also be the new pastor at Lighthouse Church and here we are thirteen years later with Brian Trent pastoring away.
There are opportunities and seasons where God moves in our lives in such a way so as to position us where he wants us to be. He confirms to us what he is doing and how he is moving in our lives. He confirms with open doors, signs, provision, and divine guidance. God never does anything half way. When he does it, he does it all the way. He will confirm and establish our steps along the way. May we, in all our ways, submit to him so he can make our paths straight.
