Mom of our Tribe - Amanda's Instagram

We gathered with loved ones in Castlewood, Virginia this week, to honor the life of my momma’s baby brother, only 12 years older than me. Like so many in the Appalachian mountains, where we’ve grown up, he was a coal miner. With coal mining comes coal dust. With coal dust comes black lung. CW or “Dub” for short was #6 of 7 children to my grandparents, Walt and Lola Mae. All his life he had a little glint or sparkle in his eye. Sometimes it was amusement and many times it was mischief but always it was there. I cry for my momma, my uncles and aunts, my cousins… I don’t cry for Uncle Dub. He suffers no more. It would be better for us to go to him than for him to return to us. Grief is the price we pay for love and worth it a million times over. ❤️🙏🏻
Congratulations, Emrie! We are so proud of you! Your hard work is showing. ❤️❤️❤️
Happy Birthday, grand girl. 🥳 You have inspired and entertained us all ever since you arrived in this world. Long may you continue to do so! The biggest change in your world this past year is your gorgeous little baby brother who adores you unquestioningly and unconditionally just like the rest of us! 😆 Another member of Queen Everly’s court. 😍I hope your day, your week, your year, your whole life is crammed with wonder, joy and delight because that is how you choose to experience it. Long live Queen Everly! Pick out your best tiara to wear today! 😘 👸🏻
They are the only littles I have left and they aren’t that little. 🥹
When the New Year is fresh, we make promises and plans. We set goals. As we should! A New Year is an exciting time!
Spent a lovely lunch hour with @latoyarobinson141 at @victory_nutrition for a brand new book club featuring the book, the Wellness Project. We discussed our own health journeys and wellness goals. It’s not too late to join us each Friday from 12-1. You don’t have to have a book. It doesn’t matter where you are in your own wellness project. You just have to desire to join the conversation. Latoya is a fabulous host. She made a delicious salmon spinach bowl, fresh fruit, and of course I enjoyed a loaded tea (Strawberry Orange). ❤️❤️❤️
